Should I quit my job and move to Spain with $18k and no real plan?
i'm 31, single, work a fine marketing job that pays well and bores me into the ground. spent three weeks in valencia last spring and actually cried at the airport leaving. not because of a person, just the light and the pace and how alive i felt. i have about $18k saved and enough spanish to embarrass myself. no job lined up, no visa sorted, i'd basically be figuring the whole thing out from a hostel. my lease is up in october which feels like a sign or an excuse, i genuinely can't tell which. everyone practical in my life says i'm romanticizing a vacation and $18k evaporates fast with no income and no plan. everyone who's ever actually done something like this says i'll regret the years i didn't way more than the money i burned. i'm 31. not old, but old enough that 'figure it out when i get there' sounds either brave or deeply stupid depending on the hour.

18k with no plan is a 6 month vacation, not a move. go, but get a visa and a rough runway first or you'll be broke and back in a year
