AIO for being annoyed my wife gave away my tools to her nephew without asking?
me (44M). there's a certain irony to me posting this given i sold her father's tools in july and got told off for it here, which is fair. last month she gave my spare socket set and a decent breaker bar to her nephew (19M) who's just started an apprenticeship. she didn't ask. she said i've got two of everything and i'd have said yes. i would have said yes. that's true and it's the thing that makes this hard to be annoyed about out loud. when i said something she said now i know how it feels, which she meant as a joke and which is also obviously the reason she did it. so we're square, apparently. i'm not sure being made even is the same as being married but i also genuinely can't argue the point.
What People Are Saying
yeah. i think i've been given a receipt rather than forgiveness.
Overreacting on the tools, not overreacting on "now you know how it feels." She's still angry about July and she's expressing it sideways.
OR on the substance and she'd every right to be angry. Evening a score isn't the same as resolving one and you've both now done a version of the same thing.
the self-awareness in the first line is worth something. she made a point and she made it with a socket set instead of a conversation, which is its own problem.
The nephew's got a good set of tools and two people are angry. Somebody should tell him where they came from, honestly.
Should I accept a dinner invitation from a woman in my book club or stay home?
is it weird to still use the mug my ex gave me for coffee every morning...
my ex texted after 2 months of silence asking to talk in person, do i reply or leave it dead
AIO for being annoyed she only said lol when i said i missed leg day

Baby that line is the whole marriage counselling session right there. Go say that to her, exactly like that.
