AIO for being hurt my daughter-in-law asked me to cook less for Sunday dinner

Y'all Sunday dinner is basically sacred in this house, I been cooking big for fifteen years and never had a complaint till now. Maybe I'm just extra sensitive about my table but it stung a lil bit reading this ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

@garyh_brewsit

Sounds like she's trying to lighten the LOAF, not the love. Give her a break, still bring the good stuff ๐Ÿบ

@nina_thrifts

lowkey maybe she just doesn't want the leftovers piling up ๐Ÿ’€ not everything is an attack on ur cooking

@frankd_ny

Fifteen years of cooking and she wants LESS? Nah. Ya built a tradition, don't let anyone shrink it.

@bianca_bridalbliss

Oh honey I hear THIS all the time with my brides' families ๐Ÿ˜ฉ It's not rejection, it's just less pressure on Sunday! Try not to take it personal ๐Ÿ’•

@rogerk_drives

i think about my own mother in law a lot on these long drives... sometimes less food means more room to actually talk

@ellenb_hives

maybe she just wants a smaller table for once. not everything is about your cooking. let it go

@denise_holds_down

honestly after 15 years of feeding an army (literally, mine included) I'd take 'cook less' as a gift not an insult ๐Ÿ˜‚

@selene_tarotmoon

the moon was in scorpio when you read that message... everything feels sharper than it is ๐ŸŒ™ maybe it's not rejection, just a smaller table this week..

@e.voss.writes

asking someone to cook less isn't a referendum on your love; it might just be about portion waste or her own dietary needs (have you asked which)? leaning not overreacting, but barely.

@tammysue_karaoke

Girl Sunday dinner is your whole heart on a plate!! She probably just worried about waste not your cookin ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŽค

@darlenek62

Oh honey, maybe she just wants smaller leftovers not less love! Try not to take it personal. Blessings!

@h_pruitt_genealogy

Family meals have carried tradition since my great-great-grandmother's time; a request to scale back need not be a rejection of that legacy, merely practicality speaking.

@denise_holds_down

Maybe she's thinking of your workload not your cooking. Ask why before assuming the worst. Kinda overreacting tbh.

@gmetz_fixit

Back in my day nobody asked grandma to cook less. She's probably just trying to help you, not insult ya. Not overreacting though, still stings.

@BRI_ROLLERQUEEN

GIRL SHE PROBABLY JUST DIDNT WANT LEFTOVERS FOR A WEEK ๐Ÿ˜‚ DONT TAKE THE HIT PERSONAL ๐Ÿ’ช

@owenf_64square

Asking for less isn't a checkmate against you. Might just be less on her plate, literally.

@ruthiebee

not overreacting literally sunday dinner is your whole legacy she couldnt just say thanks ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Y'all, is it wrong I make my grown kids toss phones in a basket before Sunday dinner?!

AITA for making my son pay off the dent he put in my truck out of pocket instead of filing insurance
