AITA for making my mom wait 3 hours at the airport so I could finish a send?
ok so my mom (61F) flew out to see me in Moab, first time in almost 2 years since i live out of my van full time and she's in Ohio. i told her id pick her up at 2pm. that morning conditions were perfect, temps finally dropped after a whole week of heat, and i'd been projecting this route for like 8 months. i knew if i didnt go that day the window closes for probably another week and i already had my flights/permits/everything lined up around this trip ending soon. i texted her im gonna be late, figured id be an hour tops. ended up sending (finally!!) but it took way longer than planned and she sat at the tiny regional airport for over 3 hours, no uber out there, had to get some stranger's number off a bulletin board to help her get a rental car because her hip's bad and she cant lift her bags easy. my sister (33F) is now in the family group chat saying i chose a rock over my own mother who flew across the country to see me, and that this is exactly why everyone thinks van life turned me selfish. my mom hasnt said much, just keeps saying "its fine tyler" which honestly feels worse. i tried explaining the window thing but nobody in my family climbs so it just sounds like excuses to them.
