AITA for losing it at my son over my late wife's recipe cards getting donated?
so back in march i had my hip replaced and my son Anthony (42M) and his wife Renee (39F) came over for like 3 weekends straight to help me clean out the house, which i appreciated. i told them touch whatever ya want in the garage and basement but LEAVE my wife Angie's kitchen stuff alone, the cabinet by the stove specifically. she passed 6 years ago and that cabinet has her handwritten recipe cards, the index box, been there since we moved in in 1987. last week i go looking for her braciole card, my grandson turns 10 and i wanted to make it for him like she used to. box is gone. turns out Renee thought it was clutter during one of the cleanout weekends and it went in a donation bag with a bunch of old cookbooks. Anthony backed her up saying he told her it was fine because it was just papers. i lost it on the phone. told them 40 years of my wife's handwriting is not papers. Anthony says im being dramatic since it happened months ago and i never even noticed till now. Renee wont talk to me, says i made her cry in front of the kids on facetime. group chat is dead silent since sunday. my daughter thinks i overreacted since it was an accident, my card buddies think i had every right. AITA?
