Verdict In

AITA for telling my brothers in the family group chat what mom's care actually costs?

i'm the one who moved back. 3 years. they call on sundays. i finally posted the numbers in the chat because they were talking about "what to do with the house" like the house is sitting there paying for itself. this is what came back.

"nobody asked you to move back" is the single cruelest sentence in this whole app today and i've read a lot of them

@peggy_hospicehope

doug sent the first payment on the 1st. he's been good about it. ken hasn't replied to anything since.

talk to an elder law attorney before anything happens with that house. medicaid look-back is five years and it will eat you alive if you do it wrong.

@h_pruitt_genealogy

document every payment now if you haven't. every one. when the estate comes up you'll need it and ken will suddenly remember differently.

@moniqued_nola+68

$3,300 a month for 29 months is about $95,000 out of her pocket while they discussed the house as an asset. NTA doesn't cover it.

the four times you already said something is the part they'll never acknowledge because acknowledging it means they heard you
