AITA for telling my best friend she has to pay me for rides like a regular customer now
ok so my best friend maya (29f) has been texting me for rides for like 8 months straight. not like a real emergency every time, just cause she knows i drive nights anyway so why not swing by after her shift or pick her up from a date. i never charged her cause shes my best friend and i figured thats what friends do. but its adding up, extra gas, extra miles on my car that i need for actual paying rides, probably lost me like 300 bucks in fares i couldve taken instead. last week she called me at 2am wasted outside some bar downtown, i was 12 min out cause i had a passenger already, and she started blowing up my phone saying im "never there for her" and how i do this for strangers all night for money but wont even help my best friend for free. when i got there she was still going off in the car in front of the guy she was with. i finally told her if she needs rides that often shes gotta start paying me like everyone else, i cant keep running a free uber on top of my actual job. she started crying saying i just called her a stranger. now shes telling our friend group im choosing money over her and everyones kind of picking sides in the gc
