AITA for using our real breakup texts in my art final without telling my ex first

me (22f) and my ex theo (23m) dated two years, broke up in march. i'm a painting major and my final project this semester was about heartbreak so i screenshotted pieces of our actual texts, the ones where he said he needed "space to figure out what he wants" and blew them up into a big collage piece with paint over them. i blurred his name but kept his handwriting-style texts basically word for word bc that's what felt real to make. open crit was last week and he came bc his friend also had work up. he recognized the texts immediately, everyone in the room kind of realized what it was, and he walked out before i even presented. he texted me after saying i "weaponized something private for a grade" and that he feels humiliated in front of people we both know. my studio friends are split, some think it's fair game bc it's my story too and art is supposed to be honest, others think i should've at least warned him. he's not responding to me now and mutual friends are being weird about it in the group chat.
