ok so my retail job (i'm asst supervisor rn) is offering me a REAL manager spot at a new store opening 3 hrs out. like $6/hr raise plus bonus, actual benefits, the whole deal. i'm 27, still living paycheck to paycheck basically so this is huge money wise. but it means leaving my derby league. i've been jamming with these girls for 4 YEARS, we finally got our lineup dialed in, we got a real shot at regionals this season and i'm one of our top scorers. starting over at a new league in a new city means benching myself basically for a whole year while i learn a new team's blocking style, if they even have room for me. my manager needs an answer by friday. my derby wife literally cried when i told her i was even considering it. part of me feels like i'm finally getting my life together financially if i take it, but derby is like the one thing that's ever been MINE yknow?? not sure if i chase the bag or chase the bout 😭🛼
