neighbor called the cops on my sleep because my true crime podcast sounded like a real murder at 3pm
i work nights in the ICU so i sleep days, earbuds always fall out around hour 2 and my phone just keeps autoplaying whatever true crime ep i left off on. apparently at 3pm today it landed on a full reenactment scene, screaming, a chase, the whole thing, blasting through my apartment wall while i was face down comatose. my neighbor (i've talked to her maybe twice, seems nice, older lady) heard it and called the building manager AND non emergency police because she thought someone was actually being attacked in my unit. i wake up to 2 cops knocking, my door unlocked bc i never lock the deadbolt when im home, they walk in to find me groggy and confused with a podcast host calmly discussing bloodspatter evidence in the background. everyone had a good laugh except me bc now i have to see this woman in the elevator forever knowing she thinks i might be either a victim or a freak. do i owe her something for the scare or just let this die a natural death
