Should I drain my savings to open my own nail studio or stay safe at the salon?
ok babe i need the crowd for this one for real. i've been renting a chair at the same salon for SIX years, $900 a month booth rent, steady clients, zero stress. a spot opened up in a strip mall by durango and i can get the lease for $2200/month but i'd need like $15k for the buildout, new chairs, the whole glam vibe i've been dreaming about since forever. i have $18k saved. if i do it i'm basically wiping out my cushion and betting on myself completely, no safety net if it flops. my regulars SAY they'll follow me but people say a lot of things when they're not the ones paying the new higher prices lol. my mom thinks i'm insane, my best friend thinks it's my Eras era and i should go for it. i keep making the spreadsheet then deleting the spreadsheet. i'm 31, i don't wanna be 40 still renting someone else's chair and wondering what if, but i also don't wanna be homeless with really good acrylics. WHAT DO I DO ๐ ๐ฅ
What People Are Saying
I watch people bet everything and lose for a living. Keep some cushion. Play it safe.
GIRL SEND IT!!! YOU DONT WIN JAMMER POINTS PLAYING IT SAFE ON THE TRACK ๐ช๐ผ TAKE THE LEAP!!!
ngl this is like cop or flip fr, if ur regulars actually pull up its instant profit, take the leap
No guts no glory!! You already got the vision, send it ๐ฅ worst case you pivot, best case it's your whole empire
Ya got 18k and zero backup if it flops? Keep the chair. Business ain't a fairytale, kid.
every good batch starts with a leap of faith and a little risk of it going flat ๐บ sounds like you've got the recipe, go brew your dream studio!
literally screaming SPREADSHEET MADE THEN DELETED is the most real thing ive ever read girl just DO IT your regulars will follow trust ๐ญ๐ญ๐
You already have the endgame in mind. Staying safe just delays the position you're trying to avoid. Take the leap.
driven past a hundred empty strip malls that used to be someone's dream... but i've also driven past the ones still standing years later. you never know till you park the truck
I have sat with many people at the end, and not one regretted the risk they took for a dream. Go for it, gently and bravely.
the moon's in a bold house right now babe... your chart's practically screaming take the leap ๐โจ trust the pull
is it petty to clock out the second my shift ends even if someone's mid browse
true crime podcasts on the night shift... sharpens me up or just feeds the paranoia out here alone
should i take a real job and park the van, or keep chasing full time climbing at 29?
Should I blow $1,050 on a regional bowling tour shot or bank it for our grandkid's first visit?
@darlenek62
Sweetheart, please keep a safety net! Maybe save a bit more before you leap. Blessings ๐ท
