Should I take a steady route-setting job or keep living the full van life send life?

ok real talk. im 29, been climbing full time out of the van for almost 4 years now, no landlord no boss no alarm clock. love it. but my savings are down to like $1400 and the van needs a $2200 engine fix i genuinely cant afford right now. a gym in Salt Lake just offered me a route-setting job, $52k a year plus actual health insurance, but its 5 days a week and basically kills the road trip lifestyle. no more chasing send windows in Indian Creek or randomly driving to Bishop when conditions are perfect. my buddy Dez says take the money, you can still climb weekends and gym setting keeps you strong. my climbing partner says once you go 9-5 you never go back, seen it happen to like 6 people we know who "just needed a season" and never left. Mia (my girlfriend, 27F, long distance rn) is not so subtly hoping i take it so we can actually live in the same city for once. part of me feels like the dirtbag life has an expiration date anyway and this is just adulting catching up. other part of me feels like a full time job is exactly the trap i built the van to avoid. torn as hell on this one 🧗

Take the job, sweetheart! Health insurance and a steady paycheck matter more as you get older, trust me. Blessings 🌸

52k plus benefits is basically an XP boost irl, ngl. you can still send on weekends, respawn timer just resets faster
