AITA for asking for the $600 back in writing after two years of hints?

lent it to a guy i've ridden with since 2019. he was between jobs, i had it, i didn't make it a thing. two years. i've brought it up light three times. finally sent an actual ask. he replied like this.

"this is exactly why I don't borrow from friends" while owing a friend $600 for two years is genuinely incredible framing

the favor ledger comes out the second the money ledger comes out. always. moving somebody is not $600.

"I'll see what I can do" is a no that's trying to buy six more months

@tvance_sends_it

that's what my wife said. she gave it until christmas and i think she's being generous.

NTA and write off the money in your head now. you'll either be pleasantly surprised or you'll be at peace.

the transmission detail is what gets me. you had a real reason and he still went to the ledger.
