ok so i (29f) work at the shop and spin thursdays at the bar, pay is not great yall know this... theres this private press modal jazz record from 71 i have been chasing since college, maybe 40 copies exist, the one clean copy i found is finally for sale from a dealer in ohio for $2800 shipped. ive wanted this record longer than ive wanted almost anything, its the reason i got into digging in the first place. but. ive also been saving to move out of my moms place, im 29 living in her basement still, and i finally have $3100 saved toward a deposit and first months rent on a studio across town. if i buy the record im basically back to zero and moving gets pushed another year at least. my boyfriend says its insane to spend rent money on a record. my coworker at the shop who gets it says i will regret not buying it more than i regret being broke for a bit. dealer wont hold it past friday. i keep flipping on this hourly...
