AITA for borrowing my roommate's civic for a meet and sitting on the curb rash for 3 weeks
so my car (17 civic type r, don't laugh) was in the shop for almost a month getting a clutch done, and my roommate tyler (25m) has this basically mint fk8 he babies. he was out of town for work so i grabbed his keys off the hook and took it to the friday meet instead of just staying home like a loser. parking was tight and i clipped a curb pulling in, scraped up the front driver wheel pretty good. nothing crazy but its noticeable if you know what to look for. i panicked and just didnt say anything, figured id get it refinished before he even noticed, quoted around $600 for that. before i could set it up some guy from the meet posted a story with tyler's car in the background, wheel damage clear as day, and tagged the location. tyler saw it, put it together, and lost it in our group chat. our third roommate mason (27m) is siding with him saying the not telling him part is way worse than the actual scrape. i think im getting rehab price and thats what matters here bro
What People Are Saying
Honey, you drove someone else's car without asking and then hid it for THREE WEEKS! That's not an accident, that's a pattern! Come clean faster next time!
The concealment is the actual ethical breach here; a scrape is an accident, silence is a choice (a deliberate one, at that). YTA.
roommate keeps setting thermostat to 65 like we live in antarctica, war or no war bro
AITA for hiding the good spatula so my roommate stops torching eggs in it
AITA for making my son pay off the dent he put in my truck out of pocket instead of filing insurance
