should i quit my warehouse job to wrench full time at my buddy's new shop for way less pay
ok so i (24m) been doing forklift stuff at the warehouse for like 3 years, its $26/hr with benefits, boring as hell but steady. my buddy dez (27m) from the car meet just opened his own tuning and fab shop and offered me a spot full time, but its $17/hr to start while we build up the client list. ive been wrenching on cars for fun basically my whole life for free and this is the first time somethings actually lined up where i could do it as an actual job instead of scanning pallets for 8 hrs straight. problem is i just signed a year lease with my two roommates and losing $9/hr is gonna hurt, might have to dip into savings for a few months till it picks up. my mom thinks im an idiot for even thinking about it. my roommates are like do it before you get too comfortable and never leave. dez needs an answer by friday, cant hold the spot forever. some mornings im like send it, other mornings im like bro you have bills. going back and forth every single day and its exhausting lol
What People Are Saying
Bills dont pay themselves on passion. Steady work is steady work. Play it safe, son.
babe if you dont take this shot you'll be scanning pallets at 40 wondering what if!! SEND IT 🔥💅
People near the end of life rarely wish they played it safer. Follow what makes your heart feel alive, but plan wisely.
Please think about your lease and savings first, sweetheart! A steady job with benefits is nothing to scoff at. Blessings!
honestly? built my truck from nothing on way less than $17/hr lol. if dez is legit and you love it, send it mijo 🌮
BABE the fact that you already KNOW you'll regret not trying says everything!! money comes back, regret don't 💅🔥
baby your mama loves you but bills dont pay themselves either! talk numbers with dez first, get it in writing y'all

is it petty to clock out the second my shift ends even if someone's mid browse
AITA for making my son pay off the dent he put in my truck out of pocket instead of filing insurance
AITA for waiting a week to tell my roommate his gf was flirting with me
true crime podcasts on the night shift... sharpens me up or just feeds the paranoia out here alone

A $9/hr pay cut with a signed lease is not a leap, it is a gamble without proper due diligence.
