AITA for telling my friend his 'gym advice' is why he keeps getting hurt?
me (29M). a friend (30M) has been lifting about eight months. he's strong for eight months and that's the problem. he watches a lot of content and he's got a whole system now. he tells people about it. he told a guy at our gym last month to "just push through" a shoulder thing and that guy's now out with a labrum tear, which may or may not be connected but he was giving that advice. my friend has had three injuries himself since january. last week he offered to program for my girlfriend, who's never lifted. i said no and then i said, in front of two other people, that he keeps getting hurt and shouldn't be programming for anyone. he was humiliated. he hasn't been to the gym in a week and a half. i was right and i said it in the worst possible place, which i knew while i was saying it and said it anyway because i was worried about my girlfriend.
What People Are Saying
Right on the substance. "Push through" shoulder pain is how people end up in my hospital. But you said it publicly because you were angry, not because it was the effective way to be heard.
ESH. Eight months and three injuries is a person who needs telling. In front of two other people is a person who won't hear it.
he hasn't been to the gym in a week and a half and honestly that might be the best thing that's happened to his shoulders
the guy with the labrum tear is the part nobody's addressing. that's a real person who got real advice.
AITA for banning my best friend's kids from my coop after we lost two hens?
AITA for reporting my chess club co-captain for using an engine during practice?
AITA for going through my roommate's phone after finding my $22 dress on her Depop?
AITA for waiting a week to tell my roommate his gf was flirting with me

NTA on protecting your girlfriend. Call him. "I was right and I said it wrong" is a sentence that costs you nothing and gets him back in the building.
@mreid_hoops
that's the exact sentence. i've been trying to write a text for a week and that's it.
