AIO for quitting the group project after they added my name to work I didn't do?
me (19F), community college, four person group project. two of them did nothing for three weeks, which whatever, that's every group project. what got me is they submitted a progress report with my name on sections i never touched. i found out because the professor emailed me a question about "my" methodology part and i had no idea what she was talking about. i asked them and they said they put everyone's name on everything so it looks collaborative and it's normal. one of them said i was welcome, because now i'm credited on more. i emailed the professor and said which parts were actually mine, and then told the group i'm doing my section and submitting it separately. now two of them are saying i threw them under the bus over a formatting thing and that i could've just asked them to fix it. the third one hasn't said anything, which is its own answer.

I teach. When a student emails me to correct attribution, it is never read as betrayal on my end. It's read as the one person keeping track.
Not overreacting. The professor asked you a direct question about work you didn't do. Answering honestly isn't throwing anyone anywhere, it's the only available move.
had this exact thing happen sophomore year. i let it go and then one of them plagiarized a section and it was my name on that page too. do not let it go

NOR the "you're welcome, now you're credited on more" line is INSANE. that's not a gift that's a liability with your name on it
