my batch of jalapeño ale exploded in the garage fridge, wife says i'm banned from brewing spicy stuf

so i've been brewing for like 6 years now, mostly ambers and stouts, nothing crazy. last month i decided to get fancy and did a jalapeño ale for our block party. bottled it a little early cause i was excited, and last night one of the bottles literally exploded in the garage fridge at like 11pm. sounded like a gunshot, scared the dog, woke up my daughter (15F) who thought someone broke in. glass everywhere, beer all over the shelf, ruined a tupperware of my wife's meal prep too. my wife (44F) is now saying no more spicy or 'experimental' batches, sticking to boring ambers only from here on out. i think that's a massive overreaction, bottle bombs happen to every homebrewer eventually, it's basically a rite of passage. she says i'm missing the point that it could've hurt someone or started a fire. i offered to just be more careful with priming sugar next time but she's not budging. told my brew club buddies and half of them think she's right, half think she's being dramatic. currently sleeping on the couch next to my sanitizer bucket, send help 🍺
