me (22f) and my ex jordan (23m) broke up in january after two years, it wasnt ugly, we just drifted once he moved for his internship. my best friend mara (22f) has known him almost as long as she's known me, we all met freshman year in the same studio building. about a month after we broke up she texted asking if it would be "weird" if she went out with him, said they'd been talking bc he needed advice about his own stuff and it kind of turned into something. i was still raw and didnt want to be the reason she said no to something that made her happy so i said something like "do whatever you want i cant control it." she took that as a yes. they've been together two months now. she posted him on her story last week for the first time and i just sat there staring at it in the studio for like ten minutes then packed up my paints and left. i havent replied to her texts in five days. our group chat with our other two friends is full of "just talk to her" messages and i feel like everyone thinks im being petty since i technically said it was fine... i just feel like a month wasnt enough time and she knew that but did it anyway bc she wanted him, not bc it "just happened." am i the ahole for freezing her out when i basically gave the ok 🌱
