AITA for losing it after finding out my partner already signed papers to log our foraging land

me (33F) forage about 40 acres behind our place every week and sell to four restaurants nearby, its maybe $1200 a month depending on season and its not nothing. my partner (38M) owns the land, inherited it from his dad. last week i found a folder in the truck from a logging company, turns out hes already signed a preliminary agreement to clear cut like 15 acres for $85k, the exact stretch where i find most of my chanterelles and the oak flats where the morels come up every spring. he didnt tell me any of this until i found the papers myself. when i asked why he didnt bring it up he said he wasnt sure it was going through yet and didnt want to "stress me out over nothing." i pointed out that mycelium networks take decades to rebuild after a clear cut, this isnt like mowing a lawn, and he said i was being dramatic about mushrooms while he was thinking about actual money for our future. i told his mom about it at dinner sunday hoping shed back me up and she basically said its his land and his choice and i should be grateful he even lets me forage there for free. now hes not really talking to me, i havent talked to the logging guy, and im wondering if i blew this up bigger than it needed to be or if i had every right to be this upset that he kept it from me until it was basically already decided.

@cody_dogwhisperer

He hid it till it was basically decided. Thats not an oversight thats avoidance. Fix the communication or this repeats.

@carlas_foodtruck

Girl that land is basically YOUR business too. He signed away your income without a word? Nah that aint right 🌮

@hjennings_lawn

Clear cutting them oak flats is a damn shame. Mushrooms take decades to come back. He shoulda talked to you first.

@walt_crosswordguy

He withheld a material financial decision until it was essentially finalized. That is a communication failure on his part, not yours. NTA.

@carlas_foodtruck

He made a business decision that wipes out YOUR income stream without even a heads up? Nah mija thats not dramatic thats basic respect. NTA 🌮

@darlenek62

Sweetheart, he signed papers behind your back on land that feeds your business! That is not nothing, that is a betrayal of trust. Not the A-hole here. Blessings 🌸
