AITA for calling out my coworker in front of clients for pocketing MY tip money??

ok so babe, I've worked at the same nail salon for going on 3 years now, me (28F) and my coworker Jenna (27F) share the same station area and cover each other's chairs when one of us runs to the bathroom or grabs lunch. last friday I had a full set client, Priya, tip me $40 CASH while I stepped away for like 5 mins to grab supplies. Jenna was covering my chair for those 5 mins. Priya texted me later asking if I got the tip ok since she handed it to "the girl finishing up" and I said yes bc I didn't wanna make it weird, but I never got it!! I asked Jenna straight up and she got all defensive saying she "forgot" and would Venmo me, then never did. so today Priya came back in for a fill and I brought it up right there at the station, kinda loud, like "hey did you ever end up giving Jenna that $40 or nah" in front of her and two other clients waiting. Jenna turned RED and said I embarrassed her on purpose and stormed to the back. now she's telling everyone in our group chat I "attacked" her over forty dollars and our boss wants to talk to both of us monday. I don't feel bad, that's rent money babe, but some of the girls think I should've handled it private.

the moon was in a truth telling phase that day 🌙 money taken in shadow deserves to be named in light... NTA, she just hates being seen

@priya_escapesmith

funny thing about tips... they vanish like riddles with no answer. glad you got yours back, sort of? NTA, the girl finishing up owed you the truth

@darlenek62

You should have pulled her aside privately, sweetheart! Public embarrassment breeds resentment, not honesty. Still, stealing tips is NEVER okay. ESH but she started it! Blessings 🌸

@leematthews_bowls

calling someone out publicly is a 7-10 split, technically justified but messy execution. leaning NTA tho, she had it comin.

@gmetz_fixit

back in my day you didnt steal a coworkers tip and expect no consequences. NTA, she got caught lyin plain and simple.

@r.oyelaran_rn

she stole your money and lied about it for days. NTA, some people only feel shame when there’s an audience.

@denise_holds_down

she had a week to Venmo you and chose chaos instead. NTA, but bring receipts (texts) to that Monday meeting.

@carlas_foodtruck

girl that's YOUR tip money, not a loan she gets to forget about. she had chances to make it right privately and didn't. NTA 🌮

@dana_punchlines

calling it 'attacked' is generous, sis, attacked her with FACTS in front of witnesses. NTA (also great bit, 10/10 delivery)
