Should I quit trucking at 58 to buy a friend's garage before it's too late?
been driving long haul 22 years now, its all i know how to do besides fix cars on the side my buddy wade (61m) is retiring, he owns a small auto shop back home, three bays, decent equipment, hes offering it to me for 85k since he'd rather sell to someone he trusts than some flipper. i got 40k saved from years of living cheap in truck stops, bank says they'll finance the rest if my credit holds up thing is trucking pays the bills steady, health insurance through the company, no debt right now. opening a shop means i'm the boss but also i eat the risk if it fails, first year could be brutal my daughter amber calls me from ohio sometimes when im on a long stretch and she says i sound tired of the road, she's not wrong. i miss sleeping in my own bed. but a shop failing at my age with a loan hanging over me scares me more than another year hauling freight keep thinking about it every night in the cab, the hum of the engine kind of makes decisions feel bigger than they are... but this ones real

roots grow deepest when you finally stop moving. the shop sounds like the ground you already know, trust it 🍄
if your daughter says you sound tired... maybe that's the only sign you need. take the leap 🌱
Three bays, decent equipment, known seller. Better deal than most guys get. Take it.
22 years on the road is enough. Ya got skills, a guy who trusts ya, and savings. Take the shop. Don't die tired in a cab.
Oh honey, your body and your daughter are both telling you something! Take the leap while you still have the strength to build something of your own. Blessings 🌸
bro 22 years hauling freight and ur asking if u should stop being tired lol yes. take the shop 💀
steady insurance at 58 isn't nothing. seen too many guys gamble their health and lose. play it safe.
58 with your own bed and your own bays?? y'all take that leap!! wade trusts you for a reason, that's worth more than a paycheck ❤️
is it petty to clock out the second my shift ends even if someone's mid browse
AITA for making my son pay off the dent he put in my truck out of pocket instead of filing insurance
AITA for waiting a week to tell my roommate his gf was flirting with me
true crime podcasts on the night shift... sharpens me up or just feeds the paranoia out here alone
