Should I turn down a $18k promotion to stay 4 days a week with Theo?
ok so backstory, my paternity leave (12 weeks) ends monday and my company already emailed me an actual promotion offer, team lead, +18k a year but its basically 50+ hrs and travel every other month. my boss wants an answer by friday!! my wife (31F) went back full time already and makes more than me anyway so we dont NEED the money, but my inlaws keep saying dont be dumb take it, careers dont wait. meanwhile my buddy who has a 4 year old keeps texting me "you will never get these months back bro" which is not helping my sleep deprived brain at ALL lol if i say no i stay at my current role 4 days a week, more theo time, more 3am feeds solo while she sleeps in on my day off, but i basically watch my career stall while coworkers who are single or dont have kids climb past me. if i say yes i barely see him awake for the next year probably. wife says its my call and shes fine either way which honestly makes it worse. im typing this one handed while he sleeps on my chest so sorry for any typos lol. genuinely dont know what to do here
