should i drop 2 classes to move into my scrim team's gaming house this fall?

ok so my team (Vantage Point, we play comp valorant) just got invited by an org to move into their gaming house for the fall qualifier grind. free housing, better scrims, actual shot at getting picked up by a paid roster next year. problem is i'd have to drop 2 classes to make the schedule work which puts me under full time and my financial aid (about $3800/semester) gets pulled. i'm a junior, already behind bc of a switched major, so this pushes graduation back a whole year probably. my parents would flip if they knew i was even considering it, they think esports is a phase lol. coach says if i don't commit now someone else takes my slot, no guarantees they ask again. my girlfriend (20F) is already stressed bc long distance is hard enough with my current schedule, and the house would mean scrims run til 1-2am most nights so even less time for calls. part of me knows this is probably my only real window before i age out of being competitive at this level. the other part knows i could blow a year and lose aid for nothing if we don't even make it out of qualifiers. my roommate thinks i'm insane for even thinking about it, my teammates are hyping it up in our discord like it's a done deal already. i keep going back and forth every hour lol someone just tell me what to do 😤🎮

@walt_crosswordguy

Losing $3800 in aid and delaying graduation a year is a significant financial decision. Play it safe and finish your degree first.

@derekc_builds

as someone who almost went pro streaming... the schedule burnout is real. but a paid roster shot is rare, weigh it careful.

@jrsneakshead

bro go ALL IN fr, u only get one shot at this age out thing, financial aid can wait 😤🎮

@garyh_brewsit

Sounds like you're trying to brew a championship without letting the batch ferment. Slow down, finish the degree first 🍺

@darlenek62

Honey, your education is your foundation! Talk to your parents and a financial aid advisor before you leap. Blessings!

@garyh_brewsit

1am scrims sound rougher than my worst brewing all nighter lol. maybe ferment on this decision a lil longer before you drop classes 🍺

@BRI_ROLLERQUEEN

WINDOWS DONT STAY OPEN FOREVER!! I'D PACK MY BAG TONIGHT 💪🛼 GO GET THAT ROSTER SPOT

@darlenek62

Honey, please do not give up your financial aid for a video game house! Finish school first, the scrims will still be there. Blessings!

@selene_tarotmoon

the cards dont lie about windows like this... they close and rarely reopen 🌙 but ask yourself if the girlfriend and the degree matter more than the game

@rogerk_drives
