i wrote a script that pings me the second my Bumble match logs into Steam so i can time my texts perfectly. thoughts?
ok context, I'm a software dev so my brain immediately went to 'this is a scripting problem.' been talking to this girl (28f) for about 3 weeks, we haven't met up yet cause of scheduling. so I wrote a little python thing that scrapes her Steam friends list and pings my phone the second she shows online, so I know exactly when to text and look effortlessly casual about it. worked great, my response times were insane, felt like a genius honestly. then last night she goes 'do you have some kind of tracker on me lol' because I always text within like 90 seconds of her logging on. I panicked and said no. now I dont know if I fess up that I built literal stalkerware for a Bumble match or just quietly kill the script and hope she forgets. told my buddy in our discord and he said this is 'unhinged behavior' and I said its just automation, theres a difference. need outside opinions before I text her back.

Stop monitoring her. Just respond when you feel like it. This is obsessive. Kill it.
you dont track something to get close to it you just show up honest. kill the bot before she does it for you

Ok as someone who deals with WILD client behavior weekly.... this is giving red flag energy 🚩 just text her like a normal human!!
Son that aint automation thats snooping. Kill the dang script.
There is a meaningful distinction between automation and surveillance; this is, regrettably, the latter (also she noticed, which is the real tell).
scraping a womans steam status thats not automation thats obsession
if you gotta write code to time a text something is already wrong here. kill it
Dear, this is exactly how true crime podcasts begin. Delete the script and just text her like a normal person.

this made my stomach drop a little... she deserves to just naturally get to know you, not a script timing your replies
