ok so my roommate Jasmine (27F) has been with her boyfriend Tyler (28M) for almost 2 years and they just signed a lease together starting next month. last week her phone was sitting on the counter unlocked and a text popped up from her ex, and I saw enough to know it wasn't just "hey how are you" energy, it was flirty and recent, like multiple times a week for a month recent. i didn't say anything to her first bc i panicked and honestly i was scared she'd just lie to my face. so i texted Tyler directly bc he's genuinely sweet and he's about to sign a whole lease with her and drop his deposit. i said he should ask her about her ex before he commits to anything. he confronted her that night and now she knows it came from me bc i'm literally the only other person who touches her phone in this apartment. she's called me a snake, said i violated her privacy and blew up her relationship over texts i don't even have full context on, and she's telling our mutual friends i'm jealous bc i'm single and she's not.
